Living In The Past Poem by Vince Davis

Living In The Past

Why did it have to end so soon?
Why did it go away?
I was too controlling,
Thought I was all knowing,
That’s what people say.

And I'm missing you now more than before
I can feel it running into my core
But it’s not too long before there won't be no more.

I knew I loved you the very first time,
I looked into your eyes.
But you just smiled and laughed at me,
Cause you saw right through,
My tough guy disguise.

And I'm missing you now more than before
I can feel it running into my core
But it’s not too long before there won't be no more.

I turn back the hands of time,
Yea everyday I rewind.
To those two summers,
When we discovered one another,
And played underneath covers.

And I'm missing you now more than before
I can feel it running into my core
But it’s not too long before there won't be no more.

But you'll be in Heaven
And I'll try my best, to get there someway.
Cause all I want out of my life is,
To see you again someday.
