Lizzy From The Old Village Of Campile Poem by Mai Murphy Venn

Lizzy From The Old Village Of Campile

Rating: 5.0

Corus
She's my Lizzy from the old village of Campile,
With her weird fashions that are always in style,
And she lightens all my worries when she smiles,
It's very plain to see, that she is the one for me,
She's my Lizzy from the old village of Campile.

She dwells down in the lovely sunny south-east,
Where the sunsets as the moon and the stars meet,
Not far from Duncannon's seashore and its golden sand,
It's many a time I held her hand as we strolled the strand.

Corus
She's my Lizzy from the old village of Campile,
With her weird fashions that are always in style,
And she lightens all my worries when she smiles,
It's very plain to see, that she is the one for me,
She's my Lizzy from the old village of Campile.

Well, I know we're getting on and we are getting old,
I have plucked up the courage for I am now feeling quite bold,
I have asked for her hand and to wear my golden band,
And if the answer will be yes, well in a suit I will invest!

Corus
She's my Lizzy from the old village of Campile,
With her weird fashions that are always in style,
And she lightens all my worries when she smiles,
It's very plain to see, that she is the one for me,
She's my Lizzy from the old village of Campile.

Well, we've got twenty years of courting behind us,
And, if we wed, it won't be in old Campile where you'll find us
For we will be gone in a flash, without a fuss,
We will go on a honeymoon and travel to Mauritius.

Corus
She's my Lizzy from the old village of Campile,
With her weird fashions that are always in style,
And she lightens all my worries when she smiles,
It's very plain to see, that she is the one for me,
She's my Lizzy from the old village of Campile.

Love this stunning poem with superb rhyming and imagery, the rhythm and musicality that flows as smooth like a rivers journey through the beauty of the love he has for his Lizzy!
