Lonely Man Poem by Alade Abayomi Idris

Lonely Man

Like island, he looks dull
Pale as leaves in desert
Prisoner he is
Sees no mercy of gale
Ice his bed turned
Rashes sun leaves him with.
His heart weigh more than his body
As it nurtures dirt of mileu
And ills of time.
Song of death he begins to dance
Fiercely his foot steps goes
Deeper into snow
Tracing the call from the cold world.
Stop the brag colleen
Embrace his bag of bones
Help him home
Even in the emptiness of his cupboard
For a life you save
Heaven has your reward.
