Look At Me... - Poem by chantelle ribeiro
Look at me
See my screaming soul?
My made-up smile?
Do you see the chains,
the pleading in my eyes?
Let me be that butterfly
Let me be independent
free from this prison that is my life
I talk to you with my sadness
I cannot hide the madness anymore
Cannot ignore the sunlight
and that open door
Let me be me
craving her own security
