Looking On Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Looking On

Looking on

Feel looking at eyes of
-Hedayat's lonely dog
-wandering, hungry,
-curious, and in need…

He named it:
- "Slandered" or "Velgard"!

I sit in a modern restaurant
-many more are around.

Pull my chair too close
-move glasses, plates,
-cutlery, on one side.
-Make cross with my arms;
-angular, diagonal,
-rest my chin on my palms.

And look on like that dog
-when had gone to shop of
-meet seller or butcher
-looking, seek with hunger.

And look on.
And look on.

On floor, well, clean,
-see the feet slipping
-covered by expensive
-shoes, made of plastic
- (Polyurethane, exactly!)

With the sixth sense of dog
-see small pieces fall
-particles are compiled
-and workers, late at night
-take broom and wash up
-removing plastic
-not knowing what it is
-and dump them
-in bucket and basket.

The flow goes around
-in the lakes, fishes' mouths
-and the birds that go hunt
-and vultures, and the fox.
-We kill them to extinct!

What grows is asphalt
-concrete to make hives
-turn to bees the mankind
-who is lost in much dust
-of claims of knowledge
-while digging own grave.

Decide to cut the line
-of the sad, ugly thoughts.
-Call waiter, then order;
-find our looks strange…

Brings soup and main dish
-in them I, see steam…

Metallic knife, spoon,
-shine, reflect fire's heat.
-Feel seeing DaVinci
-busy with his painting
-the copter and Liza
-as well as animals…

"Where did go the frogs
-and the rats and the owls? "

With such thoughts go to
-those farms where grow in
-the wine's grapes;
-fertile with chemicals!

Crazy, out of mind
-ask for bill and depart.
-Face the cars, vehicles
-all sharing Polyurethane!
-Angry, sigh and shout:
- "Give me something Natural."
