Lost At Sea Poem by Dewald Viljoen

Lost At Sea

Rating: 2.5

I am lost at sea.
In a wilderness of salt.
Rising and falling with the tide,
and all I recall is the motion.
Searching the horizon for some sign,
of hope...of safety.
Often gazing into the water,
fighting off the circling sharks.
Hoping against hope.
Fearing all and fear itself.
Cursing the sun by day.
Counting the stars at night.
Wish upon wish.
Sigh after sigh.
Waving at the passing ships,
calling out your name, with parched lips.
Dawn, dusk,
dusk, dawn.
Crying with the rain.
Howling with the wind.
Days, hours, minutes, seconds
all just flashes in our collection of moments...

Now that this life of us, has slipped away,
what can be left to say?

Dis beautiful... vir my simboliseer dit 'n verhouding... soos wat myne seker ook het... daar is natuurlik ander interpretasies... jy skryf regtig mooi. Yuri*
