Lost I Move Poem by Hannington Mumo

Lost I Move

Here I move past signs of failure,
I have no understanding what that Valley
Of the Shadow of Death is all about,
And could I be going through that, really?

It could be many years
Since I took a deliberate detour
Off the prescribed course of success
And chose to sample options mean and poor…

How irrecoverably far I've left recourse
I in no way can know at the moment
But the way is long lost now,
And I regret not where I issued consent.

Someone might find me down the confusing labyrinth
Chasing that which eluded me a quarter score years passed
But I cannot go back to where I began
But only walk ahead and all doubts throw to dust!
