SHHH!
don't bother me
I'm lost in a book

mixed up with
the complicated plots
and outrageous characters

when i'm lost in a book
I don't have to think
about my life

I'll get stuck in
a fantasy world
and never
have to come back
home again

one book
after another
I read, read, read

different places
different people
a new world

I start fresh
each time
I open up a new book

when i'm lost in a book
I am safe
no one can hurt me

I'm happy
when I'm lost
in a book
