Lost Light Poem by Muriel Ruth Emerson

Lost Light

The night falls in a heavy, suffocating cloak, cold and alone are we
The emotions for which you pine
Flares once then dies
Swept away by your obsession
All hope must sicken and die
Your love is no more
How could you abandon me? Angels surround us, crying
We have lost our light
