Lost Love Poem by Rodgers Ogola

Lost Love

A painful whisper
A dreadful murmur
In my heart a scar
From those words remembered
No longer loved
No longer cared for
You lied in that bed
Not wanting to be fed
The sickness overwhelming
Every moment scaring
Each breath you took
Every dawn you woke
Could have been your last
Life was fading fast
You should have been stronger
You should have lived longer
'My son be strong
Cause I won't be here long'
Those words shuttered my spirit
My will wasn't fit
No longer loved
No longer cared for
My loved one's gone
And my life is sore
