Lost Lovers Poem by Alexander Thomas

Lost Lovers

In the wide open spaces,
In the cavernous void,
In the vacuum,

Waiting for the air to rush in,
To give us the words,
And fill my suffocating soul,

In the decaying light,
In the breathless night,
In the stillness of time,

The silence is deafening,
My gaping heart beckons,
My mind torn,

Grasping for the truth,
Clasping at the darkness,
Anxious with uncertainty,

With every breath life,
In every moment being,
Eyes blinking,

Show me the way to sincerity,
Answer the echoes of my heart,
Call my name,

What is life if not love,
What is being if not happiness,
What is spirituality if not freedom,

Searching for that one true love,
Waiting for my cue,
Longing for you!

Wondering on memory,
Wondering on time,
Wondering...

Is it all just fantasy?
All just fable?
Or can the dreams for which we pray
materialise in the clear light of day?
