Lost Nostalgia

There must be something wrong with me I've no wish to go home
To see again old Clara hill it's face of het and stone
The land of Caithlin Ni Houlahain I have no wish to see
I've lost the urge to return home what has come over me? .

I never in my wildest dreams thought I could settle down
And live a very happy man so far from Millstreet Town
The savage loves his native shore to me once did apply
And why I've no wish to go back home don't know the reason why.

The wildering flowers are in full bloom in green meads miles away
And chaffinch pipes his merry song his melodies of May
And skylark sings his happy song above the mountain brow
And every wild born bird of song sings in my Homeland now.

The currawongs are calling on the high trees all the day
And Sherbrooke hills are shrouded in cloak of winter gray
And today the sun not shining and Autumn near an end
And Victoria's changeful Winter is waiting round the bend.

I have no wish to go back home with me what has gone wrong?
And I feel happy in Belgrave though to here I don't belong
And I never in my wildest dreams thought I could settle down
And live a very happy man so far from Millstreet Town.
