Love Poem by Rose Preston

Love

Love,
Can never be true,
For that is what I thought,
I felt for you.

For if it was so,
I wouldn’t be broken,
On the floor,
When the truth is spoken.

It means your love,
Was a lie.
I can’t get my head around it,
No matter how I try.

You slept with her.
Touched her skin,
How you touched me,
And that was your sin.

I look now
At the time we had,
You should be fighting for me,
You should be sad.

You aren’t though,
You just gave up,
And i see now,
Your love was corrupt.

I’ll never be able to see,
Who truly loves me,
If I read people so wrong...

It hurts me.
