Love Again! Poem by Anamika Goswami

Love Again!

She thought she was in love,
and the love this time was going to be enough.
He thought he was in love,
and the love this time was going to be forever.

They clung to each word hoping for melody,
but burnt out souls they didn't know it can never be.
What's pleasure to the body can be confining to the mind,
free birds they were and could not handle love's silken bind.

They fought to stay together,
while their souls got torn asunder.
And finally did they gather,
it was all a big blunder.

The harder we cling,
more easily does it slip.
Love is indeed such a thing,
that has never lived in an iron grip.
