I will tell you a tale
That no one said
Of long lost yearning
Where sorrows found grace
Of bright summer mornings
And pale dull afternoons
When i was a child
And you were but
A Woman.
Of evenings unfolding
Into ever sorrowful nights
And
Of painful joyous moments
That i realized
Too late
Too late
It was, my love
Too late
Did i fathom
The love that we shared
Unseen and unheard
That too few did observe
Too few luckier enough
That did do share
A bond as precious
As love
Of a lifetime.
Though we never did talk
And we never did meet
But we did do feel
A love
Stronger than any bonds
That the earth and the sky
Did ever bestow
On a Child or a Woman
Of Today or Tomorrow.
We did do chat
On nights stretching at ends
And mornings turning into weekends
And weekends into years and years
Until it was too late
It was too late
Before i realized
That she was gone
She was gone into a world
Where i had no name to look for
Just our conversation
To remain with us
For ever and always.
So once in a while
I do go through them
And smile and ponder
11 years it has been since then.
That not a word
Did i hear
Not a fleeting sight
Did i ever see
Then what do i see
A familiar smile
Just an emoticon on a window screen
From a friend
A long lost friend
That neither of us
Told our name.
Curious and furious
But cautious did i reply
And slowly but surely
Did nights stretch at ends
And weekends into years and years
And our friendship found new grace
And surely did
Our sorrows turn to joy.
And the earth and the sky
Felt that bond
That few did come to feel
On an earth
That is so beautiful and strong.
