~love Is A Verb~ Poem by Mary Nagy

~love Is A Verb~

Love is a verb.
Why don't you understand?
It's not just something you can hold
or give from hand to hand.

When I say I love you
you don't know what I mean.
But, when I gently touch your face
the love can then be seen.

You need to see the action
not just hear me say
I love you and I will show you this
with actions every day.

Truer than true, Mary: love is action, not just a feeling. Some never learn this, sadly.

A lovely 'closeness' poem, a feely, touchy, cuddly, sort of write. Very reassuring. Love Ernestine XXX

Actions speak louder than words. Poetry speaks louder than most other forms of words. You do the latter excellently, as here, and I say without doubt the former also. t x
