Treasure Island

Sean Cunningham

(16th August 1994 / Liverpool)

Love Lost

A fleeting whisper
Passes by, she
Tempts me so but
To no avail.

Like a siren's song,
Her face, voice, scent
All beckon me
To fall once more

Into that trap again.
I know I must
Not allow my
Mind to settle.

Amorousness? No.
A hidden agenda.

Ticking, my heart is
Choked by my thoughts,
For they will not
Entertain its

Delusions of love.
They know the truth
And still my heart
Declines to accept.

poet William Wordsworth
