Love – One Word For The Universe Poem by Persa Corbalokovic

Love – One Word For The Universe

Can a glance linking two pairs of eyes
Be as a kiss recognized?
Is it possible to proclaim love though
It was never actualized?
Can you say a woman loves a man
Whom she never kissed?
Is it love if only in dreams she holds
His body made of mist?

Am I wrong to deem love is too
When he natters with me or giggles?
Can it be an artless touch,
Or when he over the debate niggles?
Or is love only when we
Reckon how much we’ve earned,
Or sharing a cigarette after yet
Another lusty lesson learnt?

What a civilization! To have invented
One, just one single word
For a universe! Why eagle, sparrow...
Why not only: a bird?
We’ve found so many different
Weapons - have given each a name,
But for the spectrum of
Togetherness – ONE! Who’s to blame?
