When the flowers bloom on the rhododendron tree
And the parkland wear it's finest greenery
And the shrike thrush pipe his sweetest melody
Then I know you'll return again to me.

The cold wet Winter slowly drags it's way
And sunshine seldom shine through clouds of gray
But Spring draws nearer with each passing day
And you'll return again to Invermay.

When the black duck swim with her young family
And the parrot nest in hole in old gum tree
And the migrant bird fly south above the sea
Then I know you'll return again to me.

When the seagull nest on cliff above the bay
And the blackbird has his sweetest tune to play
And the songbirds chorus greet the dawning day
Then you'll return this time with me to stay.
