Love Sonnet Poem by Wakefield Mahon

Love Sonnet

How shall I show the love I keep for thee,
That thou wouldst take heart in my words?
Should I paint a portrait that thou might see,
That my love shall forever endure?

I'd paint a rose of crimson red
To render the virtue of your soul
Compose a collage of every word said
Or a sculpture of treasures untold

Yet, my love for thee is greater than these
More than a priceless pearl
The splendor of God's great masterpiece
More than all the beauty of this world

Forever, I'll hold thee close in my heart
Forever, I'll hold thee, never to part
