Love Story On The Beach Poem by Alfred Ramos

Love Story On The Beach

As you stand there staring, glaring into the endless ocean
Glistening in suntan lotion
I don’t know what thoughts are running through your head
Are they hanging by a thread?
You know I have to ask
What are you hiding underneath that mask?
Don’t you understand?
If I draw you smile in the sand
It will wash away with the first wave
And nothing will be left to save
If everything with us is heading south
And I can’t hear the words from your mouth
Then I’m just as lost as you in the angry sea
Blinded by the lovely sunset meant for you and me
There you stand like a flower to the sun
A bronze statue, second to none
But what is going through your mind
When there is no instant replay to unwind
You won’t find some genie lamp on the beach
Your dreams, they seem so far out of reach
No fairy tale is going to come true
And I can’t tell you what to do
You know I’m not a man of steel
I have emotions that are real
The moral of this story is no mystery
So don’t become a mistress to this misery
Then I’ll remind you when
Our love was strong and wouldn’t bend
So if love ever comes this way again
I’ll be there waiting till the end
