Beep beep beep
You were on your way
Till they shocked you back to life
Your motor’s running
Jump started by a mechanical god
Your chest rises and falls in unison
Driven with care by the breathing apparatus
Lights are on
But you’re not home
I’ve looked long and hard
You are not here
Drip drip drip
From the bag on the hook
Flows life
Saving what is
Missing what was
I don’t know if you hear me
Saying all the things I should of said before
I can’t tell
Where the wires stop
Where you begin
No soothing words can anesthetize this pain
There is no closure
Death lingers
I grieve in limbo
Waiting and weeping
Vegetated living is just a dead end
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
