Lucy Sky Poem by Tom Allport

Lucy Sky

Rating: 4.5

Lucy existed behind false smiles
A child of our time
With diamonds in her eyes
Neglected by a family
That never listened to her
She was lost in a wicked world
That little girl with long brown hair
So it came as no surprise
That when Lucy died
It was found to be
She'd been deprived and starved
Of not just food
But also of her family's love.

I have often read and enjoyed your comments on the classic poets and today I decided to come see what kind of poetry you wrote. This is an intriguing read with its glimpse of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and its social commentary and its heart. Lucy existed behind false smiles A child of our time- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - How unfortunate for mankind as a whole that this is true. We will all pay for the abuse of children in one way or another. Well-written.
