Maghi Saraswati-Morning Poem by SRIRANJI ARATISANKAR

Maghi Saraswati-Morning

Rating: 4.8

Over the dim river, over the silent valley
Blur-man wrinkling shadow bit by bit
Light falling short; dry and crisp winter
leaping forward putting on smokey crown;
looked at back; stretching pastureland endlessly
Far away a river like a thread of silver lying
on the basin Maghi Swaraswati-morning
Sat on her knees by a boat turned upside down.
