Magical Poem by David Harris

Magical

Many experiences pass throughout our lives,
some are bad and most unkind,
but there are the magical ones
that make us feel so good.
The close encounters with the wild
bring the greatest joys.
Close encounters with things
we've only seen from afar.
Birds of prey soar in the sky
in effortless flight.
Now imagine how wonderful it is
not only to hold, but six.
It has happened to me
with five owls and a Kestrel.
The experience leaves you
exhilarated for days to come.
Cuddling several owls
and having one climb on your shoulder
and chat to you in your ear.
The experience is magical
and one that will stay
with you for the rest of your life.
