Maid For Each Other © Poem by Roann Mendriq

Maid For Each Other ©

Rating: 5.0

She enters the house
like a breeze of fresh air,
Her face just as fresh
as her silky, smooth hair.

Home lights up
with the smile in her voice,
And you're glad deep inside
that you made the right choice.

She sweeps into
her dusty domain,
And orders the kitchen
like a Queen in her reign.

She dusts and she mops
and she cleans up the mess,
Without the slightest sigh or
sign of distress.

Then she'll whip up a dish thats
fit for a King;
All the while humming,
a tune she can sing.

Remedies & recipes,
Shes learnt and she knows,
Shes never relaxes
She keeps on her toes.

She dries out the washing,
and washes the dishes
and irons the clothes,
just as per your wishes.

Nothing compares to
the tea that she brews
and she'll never disturb,
the afternoon snooze.

She knows how to listen
And never talks back,
She knows that impertinence
Will earn her the sack.

So she nods and she nods
and smiles and agrees,
as she sweeps and she scrubs,
down on her knees.

She takes stock of the kitchen
And knows what is lacking,
And makes sure that its bought,
Or she'll be sent packing.

Smilingly, she searches
for things she can do,
To make the home happy,
For a smile only from you.
