Malaysian Doctors Poem by Daya Nandan

Malaysian Doctors

Rating: 0.5

Doctors are overworked, there is no doubt,
Working constantly, rest they are almost without,
Oncalls, paperwork, long working hours everyday,
Malaysian doctors fighting for survival in everyway,

How do they manage it all, nobody knows,
Yet on their tired faces it truly shows,
Their dedication and their tolerance towards high stress,
And yet they still help the ill of disease's mess,

They are good people who help save many lives,
Yet they barely have time for their parents and wives,
Overworked constantly one in five quit,
For times are tough, some are slowly losing it,

'Too many doctors', the goverment says
So why are they working for long hours during days?
They is so much of work for them, they can barely sleep,
Treated like robots, great stress will make anyone weep,

The government should do something about this mess,
If they truly care and want to see the country progress,
They should place more rest in between so doctors work well,
Instead of pushing them against their limits, a living hell,

Doctors are humans, not robots or machines,
Living creatures like us with human genes,
How can they treat patients optimally if they are tired,
Lacking sleep they cannot put in focus that is required,
