Maldon Today Poem by Francis Duggan

Maldon Today

The sun is not shining on Maldon today
Behind the gray clouds it is hidden away
But the flute like warbling is pleasant to hear
Of the magpies who sing every day of the year
Yesterday was warm and sunny with a weather temperature high of twenty degrees
With a refreshing coolness in the gentle breeze
Today a high of thirteen in the freshening breeze a cool chill
Blowing down the high country from Tarrengower hill
A quick change in the weather is not an unusual thing
In September in central Victoria in the early Spring
In the high wooded countryside where granite rock does abound
The songs of the crimson rosellas a familiar sound
Behind the gray clouds the sun hidden away
It is cool by the mountains in Maldon today.
