Mama's University Girl Poem by Kporho Vwede Daniel

Mama's University Girl

MAMA'S UNIVERSITY GIRL

Mama, when I go to school
I shalt make thee proud
I shalt dwell solely on thy studies
But what shalt thou doeth with love?

Thou may love
But don't fall in love
Thou may invest thy night with a lamp
But don't spend it with a man
Guys may buy thee clothes to lit
But don't let them pull it
Thou is a woman king
And thy body isn't all that sing
Don't let guys ride on thee as a woman
Because thou is also a human

Mama, but who do I call my friends?

People will come around
Don't be promiscuous in thy calling erand
People around thee may glitter
But no golden heart may filter
Be careful with talkative
But beware of those quiet leaves
Know that there isn't a perfect friend
Even Best friends are mouth lend
Friends may lead thee to party
Steadfastness in thy handbag is witty

But Mama, can I be open to people

Be open to people my Daughter
But what thou openeth may slaughter
Let thy heart be transparent
And thy nakedness a saint's rent
Be free with people friendly
But don't get loose eventually
Thou may dive, dance, drink to full
But remember, Mama raised no Fool.
