Mania Poem by Britt Veloso

Mania

Mania, mania, mania
Do you live in me?
I tried to find solace
In the girls on TV
I can't purge enough for it to come true
It must mean I'm weak
Better go buy some new shoes
I take off my clothes for boys with no souls
They think they want me
It was really just the bowl
I drank enough liquor to kill a cat
No one is watching
I know better than that
Mania, mania, mania
Come out and play
You were once so dainty and small
Now I feel like you pay
Pay attention to me
Even while I sleep
I wonder the hardest part in hiding you
Is it when I loudly weep?
Mania, mania, mania
Please stay at bay
I need you to slumber
So I can remember my name
