Marathon Poem by Phil Soar

Marathon

I wore that sweat stained shirt with pride
Knowing I'd run a marathon
Collecting donations roadside
Hoping that I'd raise a ton
Those twenty six miles of sweat and tears
A mixture of applause and cheers
As all those strides had led me to
A way that I could just help you
