Marathon To Success Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Marathon To Success

Marathon to success

In past when the midwives
-were mothers, sisters, aunts
-cord was cut using knife
-of kitchen or father's…

The infant was lifted
-hung by feet upside down
-and spanked to cry! "

Same is now for me with
-returning to class…
-every word of report is cry!

"Must read, write! "

The foetus said goodbye
-to water (soft and warm)
-to be, soon, loving life
-when walking on ground.

In love with the courses
-the path that I am on
-is rocky, very rough!

Things have changed;
-new laws, awareness
-and meetings of UN
-with new children
-and secrets and claims…

How can I do research?
-just in books and archives?
-accept the disgrace and insult?
-wild are paths, rarely mild!

Yet I must…
Yes, I must…
I will walk…

I will take Marathon
-even with my blood!
