Marry Me Already Poem by Pen Anthony

Marry Me Already

Rating: 4.0

She in her work space
You at yours
Occasionally your eyes meet
It happens one too many times
You say hi
The smile in response
You're tempted to say hi again
You chit. You chat
Every conversation making you realise
Why your eyes were always on the other
She's everything you've been wishing
Time only reveals how she's the one for you
In your head you're like
Marry me already.
You decide to ask her out on Monday
Monday comes her work place is empty
At lunch you hear the news
She's been promoted and is your new boss
You hold back
Far too long
Never asking her out
When she's passing by your station
she gives you the stare
That you shared
It's blank on your side
She gives up
Then one day you hear she's engaged
It hits you then
That intimidation robbed you of her
You regret on not making a move earlier
When your soul told her marry me already.

Very sad. How often do we regret the things we never did?
