Marshfield Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Marshfield

Marshfield

Again, me and my list
-with the names to tell me:
- "This how used to be! "

Peacefully take my time,
-and drive in and out,
-stop and deep in thought
-wonder what we have done
-hate me as criminal…
-as part of the mankind!

Can never accept the
-Man being best of all
-and wisest…possibly!

How can wise take a knife
-cut the meet from thy?
- (of himself or herself,
-look at it and enjoy?)

Can ever wise person
-break roof on own head?

Are we not doing so?
Where are the buffalo?
Why we killed the trees?

I don't see wisdom in
-ruining Mother-Earth
-for mining by digging
-or cutting hilly mounts
-to plough, add to farms
-or closing ways of
-the water in rivers
-zigzagging and dancing
-as a girl "Sweet-Sixteen, "
-or the kids in school
-innocent, playful
-or drunk falling down.

Mankind is the dumbest!
