Masked Poem by Pondering Portrait

Masked

Could it be
That the truth is masked
By a mere facade
Of cunning deception

Had I only seen
A painted picture
Perception drawn out for me
Till my own had been distorted

I’ve been so accustomed
To seeing whats layed out
That I dare not wonder
Whats hidden beneath

Would I be a fool
To accept what I’ve seen
Or is it my duty
To uncover the truth?
