Masked Life Poem by Tess Connor

Masked Life

Rating: 5.0

Masking my feelings, painting on a smile
Hoping to hide it, act happy for a while
The mask covers all, my feelings, my heart
Because in my true feelings I’m all torn apart
The identity I seek and the one which I’ve got
Are two very different things, this one I hate a lot
I need to know what to do to become a better me
To express the truth to all who want to see
At the moment I feel I could end it all
Easily in fact, it wouldn’t worry me if I were to fall
If it’d make things easier, if I were to die
I wouldn’t hesitate, I wouldn’t cry
In fact I’d love to do myself in
Leave all this behind me, for the win
Removing this mask, easier said than done
So I’ll just remove it all, put an end to this fun
