Master Of The Masks Poem by Emma Kessler

Master Of The Masks

Rating: 5.0

This one here with cheeks like roses
And lips parted into a magnetic smile
This is the one I'll wear when I have to please even the vile

This one with lips firmly placed together
And brows furrowed at odd angles
This is the one I'll wear when I have puzzles to untangle

This one here with eyes obstinate
And it's mouth in a wrinkled stance
This is the one I'll wear in silent defiance

This one here with it's mouth loosely open
Shocked with what it missed
This is the one I'll wear when amazed by a sudden plot twist

This one here with lips parted
One saved for a special moment, a quiet wish
This is the one I'll wear with at-ease eyes and a gentle kiss

I love the masks made for trying puzzles
And gripping twists
And I suppose one day I will enjoy the perfect kiss

But this one here with alabaster skin
And tears in her hair
This is the one I will never wear
