Mid-afternoon in Hangzhou
Saw a sudden thunderstorm
Move in
With a cloud burst
Then for a while
A hint of sun
A sprinkle of rain
But still I went
To sit
Under the locust tree
And now this late afternoon
I see the clouds drifting
Northeast and the western sky
Is bright and sunny
The moove bush
Has shed its flowers
But others, in nearby beds
Have started to bloom
In their place
The air is fresh and clean
With the smell of Spring
After a cleansing rain.
