I don't sleep well tonight
Because you are not sleeping by my side.
You are too far away for my arms to reach
So my sleep is not good with my empty arms.

In silence, I hear monotonous tic tac on the wall.
The size of a double bed appears much larger than usual.
The emptiness in my encircling arms is getting bigger
Because I got used to holding you in my arms.

I am sure that I'm still very much in love.
I remember many nights we slept side by side
Your naturally scented long hairs spread rivers of sweet dreams.
Holding each other compassionately, we reached our happy climax.

I remember many nights I stayed in hospitals for night calls
You were sleeping by yourself at home alone
I knew that your heart was craving to be in my encircling arms
You embraced my clothes to fall asleep those long nights alone.

During those old days, we just needed a mat and a blanket
And a mosquito net to prevent us from mosquitoes' bites.
You melted your love in my daily cup of iced milk coffee.
The ceiling fan was good enough to give us cool comfort.

Two years had passed before we began our lives in exile.
We have been in a foreign land almost forty years.
Our gray hairs are like oceans accumulated more waves with mounting years.
Thank you very much that our loves are still young and strong.

It's getting deeper into the night and my arms are full of empty spaces.
Being by myself, I embrace our old and new memories.
It's just few days away from you, but I feel it like a long time.
I miss your smiles, your flowing hairs and your brown eyes.

I sleep by myself, not because of my desire
But because of too great a distance between two places.
My arms are too short to embrace you at Annville Paradise
May the moon and winds carry my thousands kisses to you tonight.

ANH NHỜ TRĂNG GIÓ MANG EM NGÀN NỤ HÔN TỚI ANNVILLE PARADISE


Đêm hôm nay, anh ngủ không ngon giấc
Bởi vì em không có ngủ gần anh
Đường qúa xa, tay anh không với tới
Giấc ngủ này, tay trống, chẳng được say.

Trong yên lặng, tiếng đồng hồ tic tac
Giường đã rộng, lại càng rộng thêm lên.
Vòng tay ôm bây giờ sao trống qúa
Đã quen rồi giấc ngủ ở bên em.

Thế mới biết, anh còn yêu em lắm.
Nhớ bao lần, chúng mình ngủ với nhau
Tóc em thơm, trải dài bao suối mộng
Ôm hạnh phúc, chúng ta cùng ngất ngây.

Nhớ những đêm nơi nhà thương anh gác
Em ở nhà, thui thủi một mình thôi.
Em nhớ anh thật nhiều, anh biết lắm
Ôm áo anh, đỡ nghiền lúc nằm không.

Ngày xưa đó, ta chỉ cần chăn chiếu
Và chiếc mùng để muỗi khỏi phiền ta.
Hương tình yêu, thơm cà phê sữa đá
Chiếc quạt trần cũng đủ mát đôi ta.

Hai năm sau, ta thành người viễn xứ
Trọ đất người, đã gần bốn mươi năm.
Biển tóc bạc, sóng dồn theo lớp tuổi
Cám ơn em, tình ta vẫn còn xanh.

Đêm khuya lắm, vòng tay anh trống vắng
Anh một mình, ôm kỷ niệm gần xa,
Vài ngày thôi mà tưởng chừng lâu qúa
Nhớ nụ cười, mái tóc, mắt em nâu.

Anh nằm không, không bởi vì anh muốn
Mà chỉ vì đường xá qúa xa xôi,
Vòng tay anh, nhà xa, không với tới
Nhờ trăng gío mang em ngàn nụ hôn.
