Me Poem by Kevin Crinks

Me

I am white, I am male
This cannot be refuted
While everything else
Is subjectively suited
My political musings
Might not be to your taste
But don’t sum me up quickly
Nor dismiss me in haste

Am I straight? Am I gay?
Do I swing which way?
Am I morally bound
To declare that I’m sound?
Do my ethical values
Trouble anyone’s mind?
Don’t give me a label
I won’t be defined

I was born without prejudice
In my mind I am free
I’m a child of God
And uniquely me.
