Me. Poem by Georgina Ashton

Me.

It’s funny how I’m rhyming,
These poems all the time.
Thinking of words,
To go together to rhyme.

Loving this life,
In my room full of green,
Living my life,
Still only at sixteen.

My lovely dear boyfriend,
I love to hold and caress.
His not the best guy,
But he calls me his princess.

He’s not the best guy,
But to me he’s a winner.
And he’s always telling me off,
If I’m getting thinner.

Because he tells me he loves me,
For the person I am.
He’s a knight in disguise,
And I love him cause he’s my man.

My life had been ruled,
By the one they called 'Mom'.
I love her to bits,
But she's the controlling one.

Who won't give me the space,
Or the time that i need.
To get my work done,
Or even to feed.

The one known as 'Dad',
Left Us More than 2 times.
I've given up with him,
Like i did with the rhymes.

But John bought that back,
Back into my life.
And I know he'll be there,
Through the troubles and strife.

Because he's my muscley man,
I'm his hunny bun.
He's the fire to my oxygen,
And i know he's the one.

I'll admit in the past,
I wasn't very true.
But the past is the past,
But i know that i love you.
