Me Too Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Me Too

Me too

Is first night of winter
-clear is sky, ended rain,
-no snow, ice is rare
-but the cold has made hell.

In midnight, she alone
-walks towards bust stop,
-which is as cold as pole;
-to worsen, wind blows.

I want to stop and give a ride
-am afraid in such time
-that eyes, minds focus on
-only sex; with "Me too! "

I drive but my heart
-feels ashamed of skies.
-Stop, want to return
-am afraid…suspicious.

Miss the days of "Hitchhike."
-On roadsides we stopped
-extended a hand out;
-raised a thumb.

It did not take long for
-somebody to stop
-a question with smile:
- "Heading for? "

Best sample, example
-to that scene is the book
- "On the Road."

I do not like our life
-barred inside a cellphone.

Can say hate screens
-being jails with keyboards
-for chatting with few,
-sending text, sext, selfies
