Melting Pan Poem by Elias Ng'ang'a K.

Melting Pan

Melting Pan

With heart warming white smiles
She stepped down
Beyond the ocean
Into our natural beautiful land
She stole some hearts
With compassion
Into the melting pan

Her blue eyes
Jelly-like and welcoming
Soothed the dark pride
Of our chocolate sons
She played wife
Like no other.

The land saw
A huge crack
Disarming us
Dangerously for the battle
Then, just when we won her trust,
White chariots of war
Invaded our pride
Into a melting pan.

We wailed and cried
And her white armour
Was deafening.
Little did we know
That the melting pan
Was burnt away.
