Memories Waning With Time Poem by Satya Prakash

Memories Waning With Time

Rating: 5.0

Snapped: Common chords.
Memories waning with time.
When I am an old decrepit man,
Bleary eyed,
Whining away the time upon a violin;
(O! if time would out-twinkle memory
And de-clog the mind!)

When dusk gathers among the curtain layers
Spreading gloom -
A knock on the door disturbs my reverie;
My bow falters on the strings -
She is before me -
Her greying hair turning white
And on her face the flicker of a smile:
The sad refrain of days gone by.
