Memory Poem by Marilyn Jean

Memory

Rating: 5.0

Here
Time passes
Not writing
What for?
Why would I?
Then this memory
Rushing

Once
You wrote to me
Asking
When are you back?
And it felt so nice
I noticed
How sweet

You
But I denied it
I am so good at this
Life long experience
You wrote to ask
Because you missed me
But I wrote back detached
And they did not, never

But
Nasty words
They wrote instead
Same abuse, mild, consistent
There, removed it was so clear
And it hurted me so very bad
And for so long
I told you all

Later
And often it still does
Old ties were undone
But why did you missed me
My memory cannot say
I did not see love coming
Until it was too late
And just there all over me
Memory
