Memphis Church Poem by Belle Violet

Memphis Church

Cowboys are
wonderful specimens,
They're thick,
strong and tan,
They've got the work ethic
right there with
the best of them,
They're some of
my favorite men.
I've resolved, then.
I'll move
to Texas,
find a hot guy
named Memphis,
and hold him
love-hostage.
I want some
wild west
playing under
my dress.
The thing
about a girl
like me is
I'm
a chameleon.
I can love any man.
Right now, I'm jonsing
for campfires and shirt tans.
Guitars, coyotes,
sleeping bags;
firelight and whiskey
hittin'
his eyes.
I want
the Eric Church
of the desert.
I want the last man
worth a squirt.
