Midnight Party Poem by Jan Oskar Hansen

Midnight Party

Midnight Party

On a ride on booze swim in a lake of dreams
It is so easy to drown when a wine is sweet, and the moon is full.
Jumped he had from a river where salmons swam up
while he drifted into the sea that was warm as a summer lake.
On a reef smoked a cigarette and contemplated his future
ah, this wonderful aroma he composed a ditty a song for
the sinful, the bedraggled fag the righteous had banned.
When high tide came, he could swim ashore with the tide,
because a raft floated by it was full of wine and it was not
going to dry land. He awoke, and it was dawn, the barge
stuck on a sandy beach, nothing for its time to get dry.
