Milestone Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Milestone

Milestone

They walk and
Eyes observe,
And heart beats
Jams brain …

Binaries are couples
Side by side, are always,
Each of them lost in thoughts,
Of the two, one, always pregnant.

The lawsuit for oilers
And Trump's impeachment.

Palestine in the jail
Israel vaccinated.

Hand in hand, pregnant.

Feel being in class
Black is the board and
Teacher talks chalk in hand.

He speaks about light:
"Its motions are combined
Of the circles, and lines…"

Some banned the Ulysses
Some take it to heavens:
"It is the best ever! "

The fallen deep in well,
Sees nothing but darkness.

When I was in Chaco
Encountered the bones of
Soldiers, killed by corrupt
Governments, puppets of
Rockefeller, Royal Shell…

By the board says teacher:
"See it as light's motion."

Sky is a young girl
Very shy and modest…

I am called by my name
And asked to go attend
The prince's Birthday.

Soldiers march, some pray
And Royals inaugurate…

I talk with a man who
To me is statute:
"They too, are human…"

I am kid, less than teen
On my way and going,
Soon after, I am cursed
And beaten like a beast:
"We saw him finger girls! "

It is lie, I was sure,
Police made excuse,
He, too, is statue,
Another brainless
In the leash of orders…

That became milestone
For hating governments,
Mean-devils are monsters.

Wonder why their mistakes
Must always harm poorest
And ancient Indigenous!

Am back in classroom,
Teacher is shaded with
Chalk powder and speaks:
"If one sees through hole,
Light is line in his eyes,
But not if in open
Like the seas and deserts,
There, world is enlightened! "

Since teacher was in box
Had to use the tools of
Ambiguity, metaphors,
And lecture in concise
Even when teaching light.
