I've watched you grow from a child,
Into the adult that you are today.
You used to be so reckless and wild,
And you have come such a long way.
Now you proudly defend our nation,
And help keep this country free.
And you do all this without hesitation,
I'm just as proud as I can be.
There are times that I worry to death,
But I know you're doing what you must.
You'll defend us to your last breath,
Because in you, and God I trust.
When I heard you joined the military,
I won't deny that I had cried.
But looking back now I can see,
How you filled me with so much pride.
My eyes always well up with tears,
Whenever I see you in uniform.
But I know that you have no fears,
As you weather through the storm.
I know you will turn out alright,
But it is still my job to worry.
If they mess with you in a fight,
They will unleash a mother's fury.
