Mirage Girl Poem by Jinge Norvall

Mirage Girl

Rating: 5.0

She was here once,
in my arms
& I could feel
her heartbeat
steady against my own...
she was here,
and she was mine.
But now I touch her
only in my dreams,
till i waken to wander
this green desert land
of my birth..

On the horizon
I see a mirage...
she's within reach,
after all..
but as i draw nearer,
she's gone..
back into the ether
from whence she came..
my mirage-girl, who
was never really there at all.

And yet, where is the girl..
the one I really knew,
the flesh & blood girl
who loved me with fire
in all her heart
& soul..?
can she be stranded
on a distant shore,
with no way
across the vast
& stormy seas?

If I listen
to what her heart is telling me
I know that the girl in my heart
will find her way back
into these arms..
my flesh & blood girl...
not the shimmery
ether
of mirage.
